Value #1: HUMAN VALUE - We believe that every human being is immensely valuable to God and to us.

1. WE SEE OUR VALUE IN CHRIST’S CALLING

Matthew 9:9 

“As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. ‘Follow me,’ he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.”

2. WE SEE OUR VALUE IN CHRIST’S COMMUNITY 

Matthew 9:10-11 

“While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, ‘Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?’”

3. WE SEE OUR VALUE IN CHRIST’S CLINIC

Matthew 9:12-13 

“On hearing this, Jesus said, ‘It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: “I desire mercy, not sacrifice.” For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.’”

QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION

1. Have you ever felt confused regarding your value? How did that express itself?
2. Have you ever questioned your calling from God? What are some truths that have helped you amidst those times of doubt?
3. How have others helped remind you of your value in Christ? How can you do the same?
4. What is Jesus trying to heal in you today?  What will help you give Him permission to do so?
