Tightrope: Rest/Work

Finding the balance between the work we need to do and the rest we need to have to do it well.

Matthew 11:28-30 

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

I. TRUE REST REQUIRES ACTION NOT INACTION

II. TRUE REST IS FOUND IN A PERSON NOT A PLACE

Matthew 11:28a

III. TRUE REST IS NOT ONLY A FUTURE PROMISE BUT A PRESENT ONE

Matthew 11:30

...and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

1. How have you experienced the “actions” of seeking Jesus for rest?

2. What does it mean to find rest “in Jesus”?

3. How have you experienced the rest that Jesus invites us to in this life?
