Return to the Joy of Christmas
Series: A Weary World Rejoices
Summary
Return to the Joy of Christmas
Joy can often be a gift that comes disguised in unattractive paper.
I. WE RETURN TO JOY WHEN WE TRUST GOD’S WISDOM
God loves to turn nobody’s into somebody’s.
God knows all that we are not, yet still sees all that we can be.
I don’t have to know how it’s done, as long as I know whose I am.
Knowledge comes from many sources, but wisdom only comes from God.
II. WE RETURN TO JOY WHEN WE TRUST GOD’S PROMISE
No matter what you're walking through your songs not over.
Perseverance places us where God’s joy can find us.
God’s best tomorrow can still be reached from our most difficult today.
Sometimes it’s not that God’s song of joy is unavailable to us, it’s that we’ve stopped singing.
III. WE RETURN TO JOY WHEN WE TRUST GOD’S JUSTICE
If you know Jesus, the pain you feel today won’t last and it won’t win.
Discussion Questions:
1. What are some of the differences between knowledge and wisdom?
2. How have you experienced joy on the other side of trusting God’s promise?
3. In what ways have you watched God bring about true justice differently than how you thought justice should have taken place? How did God’s results compare to what your results would have been?
