I. COURAGE CALLS US TO A FAITH MARKED BY REVELATION
Matthew 16:13-20
Then Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, ’Who do people say the Son of Man is?’ They replied, ‘Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.’ ‘But what about you?’ he asked. ’Who do you say I am?’ Simon Peter answered, ‘You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.’ Jesus replied, ’Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.’ Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah.
God’s church for humanity is built upon the rock of God’s revelation to humanity
Luke 19:10
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.
II. COURAGE CALLS US TO A CHURCH MARKED BY LOVE
John 13:35
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
1 Corinthians 13:4-6
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
III. COURAGE CALLS US TO AN IMPACT MARKED BY KINDNESS
Romans 2:4
Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?
God’s kindness is a universal language.

1. How has God revealed Himself to you in a miraculous way?
2. What are some ways you can increase the prevalence of God’s love in your faith community?
3. How have you seen kindness lead a person to repentance?
