JESUS IS GREATER

Than my Fear

SERIES SCRIPTURE:

John 16:33 "I’ve said these things to you so that you will have peace in me. In the world you have distress. But be encouraged! I have conquered the world.”

I. JESUS OVERCOMES FEAR BY GUIDING US IN OUR PRESENT
Psalm 27:1 (NASB) "The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread?"

II. JESUS OVERCOMES FEAR BY REVEALING HIMSELF IN OUR PAST
Psalm 27:2-3 (NASB) "When evildoers came upon me to devour my flesh, My adversaries and my enemies, they stumbled and fell. Though a host encamp against me, My heart will not fear; Though war arise against me, In spite of this I shall be confident."
 

III. JESUS OVERCOMES FEAR BY CARRYING US INTO OUR FUTURE
Psalm 27:4-5 NASB "One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord And to meditate in His temple. For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock."

1. How has God met you amidst a fearful circumstance?
2. Can you think of a time when looking back on what God did in the past helped you trust God with what you we’re facing in the present?
3. How might God want to change how you approach your future regarding fear?
