John 16:33 "I’ve said these things to you so that you will have peace in me. In the world you have distress. But be encouraged! I have conquered the world.”

I. JESUS PROMISES A HOPE BEYOND MY CIRCUMSTANCE
Romans 8:24-25 "For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently."

II. JESUS PROMISES A HELP WITHIN MY CIRCUMSTANCE
Romans 8:26-27 "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans."
 

III.JESUS PROMISES AN HONOR DESPITE MY CIRCUMSTANCE
Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
 

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1. How has having an eternal hope of heaven with Jesus given you perspective of the struggles of this life?
2. When has God helped you amidst your struggle in such a way that you knew it was God’s hand? 
3. Have you experienced God lifting you up after walking through a discouraging time? If so, how did God do that?
