God's Role Model as Parent

SERIES SCRIPTURE:

Ephesians 5: 1-2 "Therefore, imitate God like dearly loved children.  Live your life with love, following the example of Christ, who loved us and gave himself for us."

I. WE INVEST INTO THE NEXT GENERATION THROUGH OUR PROCLAMATION
Psalm 78:5-7 "He established a law for Jacob and set up Instruction for Israel, ordering our ancestors to teach them to their children. This is so that the next generation and children not yet born will know these things, and so they can rise up and tell their children to put their hope in God..."

II.  WE INVEST INTO THE NEXT GENERATION THROUGH OUR INVITATION
Psalm 78:7b "...never forgetting God’s deeds..."
 

III. WE INVEST INTO THE NEXT GENERATION THROUGH OUR TRANSFORMATION
 Psalm 78:7c "...but keeping God’s commandments."

1. How has watching the lives of parents or older adults helped you  trust Jesus more?
2. Are there “words of truth” you carry to this day that were first given to you by a parent or parental figure? If so, what are they?
3. How have you been impacted by watching those who follow Christ be transformed as part of God’s ongoing redemptive work?
