“By faith, Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh's daughter. He chose to be mistreated. Along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time.” - Hebrews 11:24-25
"He chose to be mistreated." In our day and age, we are so into comfort. Anything that will bring us comfort and make life easy and luxurious or whatever it is. But Moses chose to be mistreated and not to enjoy pleasures of sin for a short time. How many of us have had sin in our life that did bring pleasure for a short time? It was fun. But then there are consequences that you deal with for years. Going on it says, “He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt because he was looking ahead to his reward. By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king's anger. He persevered because he saw Him who is invisible.”
God was really important in Moses' life. Even though there are things that we see in the scripture that Moses did wrong or was angry... that's us. We are kind of like Moses in a lot of ways, aren't we?
He chose to be mistreated, not enjoying the pleasure of sin. Even though Moses was part of the family of Pharaoh where he could have enjoyed all the treasures of Egypt, he made a different choice, a harder choice, to follow God's direction instead of losing himself in the luxury and opulence.
Wherever you are in life, whatever you are facing, this is your reminder to let the Spirit lead. If you have decisions to make, consider the consequences of your decisions. And live life, love God, and do it all to its fullest.
