God's Role Model as Friend

SERIES SCRIPTURE:

Ephesians 5: 1-2 "Therefore, imitate God like dearly loved children.  Live your life with love, following the example of Christ, who loved us and gave himself for us."

I.  GOD’S MODEL OF FRIENDSHIP REQUIRES VULNERABILITY
Acts 2:44-45 "All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need."

II.  GOD’S MODEL OF FRIENDSHIP REQUIRES FAVORABILITY
Acts 2:46-47 "They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people."
 

III. GOD’S MODEL OF FRIENDSHIP REQUIRES INCLUSIVITY
Acts 2:47b "And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1. What are some ways you have experienced friendship with Jesus? 

2. How can you grow in healthy vulnerability with another person?

3. Do you have any friends who are not yet followers of Jesus? If not, what would help you make room for them?
