Over and Over

Over and over and over and over

We pull the covers back

revealing a new day

but it always feels the same

the same hurt

same flaws

same guilt

same shame we carry that travels with us

a constant companion

like a suitcase

that we don’t need but are afraid to put down

scenes from our life flicker by like reruns

one after one

the ghosts of our past haunting us

taunting us into submission

Holding us down when we try to reach out

or up

But what if our reruns could be rewritten

pulled from the ashes

to tell a different story?

and suddenly

the scenes that we knew so well

Look different

with a new lens that sees only the beauty

and

What if

the Film Maker

could rewrite our script without changing our scars

because the scars tell a story

those around us need to hear

and what if

our greatest failures

could become His greatest victory

over and over and over and over

and we realize just how much He loves us over and over and over and over

and He saves us over and over and over and over

and we get to start over and over and over and over

because in Jesus

we get to

Begin.
